Hey everyone! I’ve been quite productive this past week and finished another addition to my Stormcast Eternals collection; the Lord-Celestant on Dracoth!

I’ve had this model sitting around for a year now as it’s the model from the Age of Sigmar starter set. I really enjoyed painting him, it was also my first time painting a Dracoth. I wanted to paint it similar to my Stardrake, which you can view here, so opted for a similar blue scheme. The skin was painted Stegadon Scale Green, washed Nuln Oil, and layered Sotek Green, Temple Guard Blue, Temple Guard Blue/White, glazed Gulliman Blue and then I added in final highlights of White.

One aspect of the model I’m particularly happy with is the Lord-Celestant’s cloak. This was painted Khorne Red, before I have used Carroburg Crimson as a glaze to add shadows, but this time I decided to use a thinned Druchii Violet mix to shade the cloak. I then highlighted with Wazdaka Red, Wazadaka Red/Evil Sunz Scarlet, Wild Rider Red and White.

I painted the inside of the Dracoth’s mouth as if it is just about to breathe a fireball. This was painted white and then progressively glazed Bloodletter and Lamenters Yellow, adding in more white and more glaze to build up the intensity, I then added white in the centre at the back of the mouth. I also glazed his teeth Lamenters Yellow.

I’m really happy with the model, and glad I finally painted it after so long of it sitting on a shelf. The only other model I think I’ll paint from the starter set is the Lord-Relictor, as I’ve since bought the individual boxes of the rest of the starter set because I like the varied poses better. I’m now looking forward to painting my Dracothian Guard, as painting this Dracoth was a lot of fun!
