Hey all, a very quick post today for three Drop pod’s for a Blood Angels army that I have been working on over the last couple of months.
I quite enjoyed working on these as they are the first Drop Pods I have worked on. Assembly was a bit nasty one, but with a fair bit of fiddling about I pretty much got them to close almost properly. For the Blood Angels ones I used Vallejo Fire red as a base and built up various tones of brighter reds towards the top half of the model. All the models I hit with Mig weathering powders and washes of heavily watered down GW Desert Yellow. For the Death Company Drop Pod I made a stencil for the red cross. What do you guys think?

Any chance you guys will make any more tutorials? I am not painting/playing myself, but I used to 15 years ago. Now, from time to time, I am just enjoying watching you pros paint.
Wish you would make a tutorial with chaos, where you are using metallics and reds.
PS I love your realistic, gritty, style. For me, personally, it is my favourite one. Great job, and once again, would be awesome if you guys could make more tutorials.

I really like the red ones. The black one a little less. I think that the surfaces that are not red on the red one should also be not black witj the black one. I mean the pistons, and the silver surfaces at the top and in the middle.
The weathering on the red ones is also stunning, They look very used. But i missed that on the black one.
that's a really nice gradient on those. is that the iawata paints again?
Zab, yes. Those are the same paints mixed with some Vallejo reds.
Absolutely stunning. These look exactly what you'd expect of a craft that's been repeatedly dropped through the atmosphere.
