Tying up loose ends with today’s post. I finished the two Reivers above and I’m sharing them completion’s sake. After the jump the five man group shot and some thoughts on what’s next.
I’m quite happy with how the group look. I have received this month’s Conquest delivery which includes another three Reivers, so once they’re painted I’m back to having a odd sized squad of eight. I do have the parts to make another two bringing me up to a nice round ten man squad. So I’ll have to fit those two in somewhere.

In the past you've mentioned Space Marine painting has become a bit of a drag, do Primaris help kick that?
Hey Luke, yeah I've been a big proponent that painting marines is boring. They're so hard to get away from though. I love boxed games and they're almost always one of the forces in boxed game, so you kind of inadvertently end up amassing a collection of marines without even really trying. It's even more pronounced when Warhammer 40,000 Conquest delivers them to your door on a monthly basis!
However, at this point in time I'm not finding it a drag. I'm actually really enjoying it. I think it's partly because they're Primaris, and they're new and exciting. I'm also really enjoying the month drip feed of models with the Conquest Subscription, the Death Guard models are breaking up the monotony of painting Loyalist Space Marines (as loyal as a Dark Angel can be).
But i think the main reason I'm not feeling the drag is because of the paint scheme I choose. I love how the Dark Angels look. I love how the armour comes out and the bone chest Aquilla and the red bolters. It's super satisfying. I didn't get that feeling with the Primaris Ultramarines I painted.
It's amazing how quickly you knock these out. My Primaris take ages to finish, even with my simplified paint scheme 😀
