Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Prime Deals, and now Spring Deals too… it’s getting to be a lot, and consumerism knows no bounds. But it’s good for our hobby, as we can save money more often, and with the current economic climate, that’s certainly not a bad thing. We’ve put together the best offers for painting and photographing miniatures in this post – grab them now before they’re gone!

Airbrushing deals

Airbrushes and accessories are excellent to buy on Amazon. Here are my recommendations:

  • An airbrush extraction booth will prevent stray pigments from flying around in your hobby room and is an absolute essential. Here is the model I use (it’s a whitelabel product that is sold under various brand names such as CO-Z and Wiltec)
  • Before I had the one above, I used this slightly smaller booth under 100 $/€/£ that also folds and packs away nicely. Get the Big Spring deal here
  • For all booths I recommend replacing the short, inflexible plastic hose that comes with the booth. Use one of these longer, flexible hoses with a 100mm / 4″ diameter instead to exhaust the air through the window.
  • Gaahleri do decent mid-range airbrushes that don’t break the bank. I recently reviewed the Mobius premium airbrush and entry-level GHAD-39 here. Gaahleri has various Big Spring deals for various regions, so check them out here: Gaahleri Big Spring deals
  • In the UK, Gaahleri has the super-affordable airbrush and mini-compressor GTS-06 bundle as a daily deal for today, the 26th. The bundle is great for basic tasks like basecoating, zenithal basecoats, and varnishing: Gaahleri Big Spring deals

I use all of these products myself in my hobby setup, as you can see in this video:

PS.: For other hobby supplies like brushes, paints, and tools, I’m a bit wary of Amazon. The quality of the “made in China” brands is hit and miss, mostly miss more often than not.

Camera gear and photo light deals

My entire photography equipment comes from Amazon. If you want to take your miniature photography to the next level, I recommend the following products:

  • Two of these rechargeable Raleno LED panels is all you need for taking high-quality images of your models. Use a white sheet of paper as a backdrop, and put the LED panels diagonally at the front right and left to remove any shadows. Get the Raleno Big Spring deal here
  • Neewer is also a great value photo light brand I use a lot, and these panels are basically the same as the the Raaleno ones: Get the Neewer Big Spring deal here
  • For adding interesting light effects on my cinematic photography, I use these affordable little rechargeable Neewer RGB light cubes: Get the Neewer Big Spring deal here
  • This is a high power 24″ ring light from Neewer. It’s dimmable and variable colour temperature. I actually use this a light for my paint station because of the even light coverage, and it allows me to take overhead shots: Get the Neewer Big Spring deal here
  • To minimise camera shaking, I recommend using a tripod for your camera or smartphone. Victiv is a great budget brand with a build quality way above their price point. Most of their lineup is part of the Spring deals, but the one for just around 31 $/€/£ has everything you need: Get Victiv Big Spring deals here

Warhammer JoyToy action figures & other hobby deals

  • JoyToy does beautifully pre-painted Warhammer figures in action figure scale. Lots of their figures are part of the spring deal, for example the brand new Sanguinius and many Space Marine figures from Warhammer 40k and Horus Heresy. Lt. Titus from the Space Marine video game, Ultramarines, Space Wolves, Black Templars and more… Get Joytoy Big Spring deals here
  • Here is a deluxe miniature carrying case for magnetised bases from Weliday. I haven’t tried this particual model but the customer feedback is pretty good: Get Weliday Big Spring deals (btw Garfy reviewed the cases from Jucoci recently, which are great, but unfortunately not part of the Spring deals)
  • Not Warhammer related, but as a 90s kid I had to add this: a faithful reproduction of the 90s Turtles Technodrome play set for just 40$… man, how much I wanted that as a kid! Get the Technodrome Big Spring deal here

Please note that not every deal is available in every region of the world. This link will take you to the hub page for the Big Spring Sale of your region, so you can browse all the available deals. Remember that deals last only until March 31.
