ToP Tip: Best hobby Prime Day deals

Amazon’s biggest Prime Day event yet will kick off on 8 July 2025, and there’s a surprising number of Warhammer, JoyToy, tabletop, and hobby-related deals. If you’re looking to get involved in the Jeff Bezos consumer jamboree but are having trouble keeping track, we’ve put together the most recommendable offers for you here.

This years Prime Day event will start on July 8, 2025, your local time, and end on July 11, 2025. Fresh deals can appear as often as every five minutes during select periods, so it might be worth checking back every now and then. To stop yourselves from getting carried away, it’s a good idea to draw up a list in advance of what you truly need, and then look for those things purposefully. My tips can be a good starting point:

Warhammer JoyToy action figures & hobby deals

• JoyToy does beautifully pre-painted Warhammer figures in action figure scale. Lots of their figures are part of the Prime Day, from Space Marines to Death Korps, T’au, Tyranids, Horus Heresy, Primarchs, and more… Get Joytoy Prime deals here
• Jucoci‘s popular miniature carrying cases for magnetised bases are also part of the Prime Day deals. Garfy reviewed some of their cases a while ago and is quite happy with his case. Get Jucoci Prime deals here
• You can also snatch a few select Warhammer box sets, for example Necromunda Ash Wastes for $160 instead of $200, and get a whopping discount of $140 instead of $220 for the Thondian Strongpoint terrain set! Airbrushing deals

Airbrushes and accessories are excellent to buy on Amazon. Here are my recommendations:

• An airbrush extraction booth will prevent stray pigments from flying around in your hobby room and is an absolute essential. Here is the model I use (it’s a whitelabel product that is sold under various brand names such as Vivohome and Wiltec)
• For all booths I recommend replacing the short, inflexible plastic hose that comes with the booth. Use one of these longer, flexible hoses with a 100mm / 4″ diameter instead to exhaust the air through the window.
• Gaahleri do decent mid-range airbrushes that don’t break the bank. I recently reviewed the Mobius premium airbrush and entry-level GHAD-39 here. PS.: For other hobby supplies like brushes, paints, and tools, I’m a bit wary of Amazon. The quality of the often “made in China” dropshipped products can be hit and miss, mostly miss more often than not.

Camera gear and photo light deals

Amazon has quite a lot of affordable photo accessories options, and my entire equipment comes from there. If you want to take your miniature photography to the next level, I recommend the following products:

• Two of these rechargeable 19.5W 4000 mhA Raleno LED panels is all you need for taking high-quality images of your models. Use a white sheet of paper as a backdrop, and put the LED panels diagonally at the front right and left to remove any shadows. Get the Raleno Prime deal here
• Neewer is also a great value photo light brand I use a lot, and these 9″ panels are basically the same as the the Raaleno ones: Get the Neewer Prime deal here
• For adding interesting light effects on my cinematic photography, I use these affordable little rechargeable Neewer RGB light cubes: Get the Neewer Prime deal here
• This is a high power 24″ ring light from Neewer. It’s dimmable and variable colour temperature. I actually use this a light for my paint station because of the even light coverage, and it allows me to take overhead shots: Get the Neewer Prime deal here
• To minimise camera shaking, I recommend using a tripod for your camera or smartphone. Victiv is a great budget brand with a build quality way above their price point.
