With the booming thunder of their deep drums, the Helsmiths of Hashut stormed into the Mortal Realms a few weeks ago with their army set. Now the second wave with the remaining kits follows in their wake. In part one of our review, we’ll take a closer look at the Uruk Taar on Infernal Taurus, the Bull Centaurs / Anointed Sentinels, and the Daemonsmith / Ashen Elder kits. As always, complete with high-quality sprue images.

The Helsmiths of Hashut wave 2 will be available for pre-order starting Saturday, 18 October 2025. The pre-order period lasts two weeks, with the official release date set for 1 November 2025.
This is part one of our two-part Helsmiths of Hashut review. Part two, featuring the Infernal Razors and Hobgoblin Vandalz, will follow early next week. You can find our reviews of the War Despot, Infernal Cohort, Dominator Engine, and Deathshrieker Rocket Battery / Tormentor Bombard kits in our review of the Helsmiths Army Set here.
Urak Taar the First Daemonsmith / Daemonsmith on Infernal Taurus review and unboxing
Uruk Taar can also be built as a standard Daemonsmith on Infernal Taurus. The box contains two large sprues, a 130 mm round base, and a construction manual. The RRP is £98 / 130€ / $165.

Patreon bonus content: Ultra high-res, uncompressed versions of these sprue images (and backsides of the sprues) can be downloaded here.
You start by building the Infernal Taurus with its throne and scenic base, whose pose unfortunately can’t be changed. Then you choose the rider, as well as a few cosmetic options for the Taurus’s head. As the regular Daemonsmith doesn’t share parts with Uruk Taar, and has a quite basic standing pose, you basically get a free Daemonsmith on foot if you build Uruk Taar.
- For Uruk Taar’s staff, there are two tips: one with an elaborate soul-energy effect (parts 75 and 76), and an alternative plain staff tip without the effect (part 74).
- Uruk Taar’s pulpit has a unique front piece with an open tome.
- The Taurus includes an especially large pair of horns (parts 21 and 22).
- The standard Daemonsmith has a different torso from Uruk Taar and can be built with either a male or female head. There’s a right arm with a clenched fist (part 62) or an open hand (part 66), and a left arm with a flaming stone orb (parts 63 and 64) or staff (parts 65 and 67).
- For the standard Taurus, you can choose between two pairs of horns (parts 19/20 and 23/24). You can also fit either a simple gemstone to the forehead (part 17) or a steaming gem (part 18).
Whichever version you choose to build, the Infernal Taurus is a true centrepiece on its massive 130 mm round base. While the pose can’t be altered, there are still a few cosmetic options for personalisation. The only thing I might criticise is the design of the Taurus itself. It’s meant to represent a statue brought to life, but compared to the Dominator Engine, it feels almost a little lacking in detail. The angular, stylised wings in particular remind me somewhat of low-poly 3D models.
Bull Centaurs review
The Bull Centaurs are also a dual-build kit, allowing you to assemble three Anointed Sentinels instead. The box includes three medium-sized sprues, 75 mm oval bases, an assembly guide, and an A5-sized transfer sheet. The RRP is £40 / 51.50€ / $65.
You start by building the three centaur lower bodies, which are identical for both unit types. The upper bodies, however, are completely different depending on which build you choose. That means you could magnetise or blu-tack both unit types fairly easily.
- Model 1 can be built either as a Bull Centaur Champion or a regular Bull Centaur. The Champion features a distinctive breastplate (part 9), a unique head and horns (parts 13 and 14), and an alternate pair of arms wielding maces. The regular Bull Centaur has a plain breastplate, a different head, and a second pair of mace-wielding arms.
- Models 2 and 3 are standard Bull Centaurs with maces.
- Each of the three regular Bull Centaurs offers a choice of interchangeable horns (parts 63 – 66), although each head fits only a specific body.

Alternatively, you can build the three models as Anointed Sentinels:
- Model 1 (the same one used for the Bull Centaur Champion) can be built as either an Anointed Champion or a regular Sentinel. The Champion is distinguished by a special face mask with larger horns.
- Models 2 and 3 can also be built as Anointed Sentinels instead of Bull Centaurs.
- For all three regular Anointed Sentinels, you can mix the four heads (parts 71 – 74) with one of three different masks (parts 68 – 70) plus the unique mask for the Champion.
Apart from the choice between two unit types and a few cosmetic details such as horns and masks, the models are quite monopose, so duplicates will stand out in larger units. Even the arms are difficult to swap, as they’re partially moulded to the torsos and only fit in specific combinations.
Still, the Bull Centaurs and Anointed Sentinels are among my favourite models from the Helsmiths of Hashut range, alongside the Dominator Engine. I really like the anatomy of the bull-like lower bodies, the dynamic combat poses, and the armour design – they look absolutely fantastic.
Daemonsmith / Ashen Elder unboxing
The Daemonsmith on foot, which can also be built as an Ashen Elder, comes in a small box containing a single sprue, a 32 mm base, and an assembly guide. The RRP is £25 / 32.50€ /$40.
Both versions share the same body, after which you can choose between two builds: the Daemonsmith with his rocky base topper, or the Ashen Elder. There are no additional optional parts. While you can technically mix and match pieces between the two variants, it doesn’t make much sense with the army list in mind. However, you could use one of the spare heads from the Infernal Taurus kit, you’ll just need to trim the neck slightly to make it fit.
