I’m nearing completion of this speedpainted Minos army. I’ve got a unit of Termies, devs and assault marines remaining – and after the jump you’ll see pics of 2 tactical squads (with some devs mixed in) and a few HQ elements. The scheme is designed to be quick and easy: Vallejo primer sprayed on, VMC tinny tin, a Hawk Turquoise wash, VCG Brass. Easy, quick, satisfying = win!

Thanks a lot, we appreciate any help to continue and grow Tale of Painters 🙂
Thanks Rev, that's great. I'm painting a Salamanders armie at the moment and doing red lenses over a green helm which is ok although a little plain, but if I could get a subtle osl going on I think it would improve them immensely.
Hey Joey – I'll try to do another tute. It is harder over a darker tone, so as a top tip – plan to do it over a light base colour. I find blue easiest and red the hardest. Green has been in the middle! rev
I would love some pointers on the eyes, I am ok with OSL using my airbrush on larger objects, but I am always wary of doing eyes in case I bugger up my paint job. Fantastic scheme 😉
For me it was just a good excuse to play with some new techniques. Without the verdegris the whole thing looks a bit flat and amateurish – the turquoise adds just enough depth to make the quick and dirty finish look interesting.
I've never understood why people feel so compelled to put verdigris on minotaurs.
Magnificent blog!
Magnificent miniatures.
I like very much.
Sorry for my bad English… i'am french.
I've learnt that OSL onto darker colours is a lot harder to pull off that OSL onto white!! Maybe a tutorial to follow?!
Wow been waiting to see an update of these, look awesome! Love the glowing green eyes btw.
quick and dirty is the name of the game for these guys! Helmet crests AND round shields are from anvil industries (highly recommended).
That's pretty sweet! Awesome for tabletop quality.
Are those helmet bits from anvil industry?
I think the armor is a little too quick and dirty – at least for my tastes, especially with the crisp details. But I love that Standard Bearer. Great conversion.
These look great. Is there a backstory for them or anything? Also, is that a picture you drew? Or is it from a book/comic etc?
Really nice work
Wow, these guys look awesome. Really like the different bits you mixed in to give them that mino feel. And the poses are solid as well; like the second HQ element's especially. Great job!
These look great! I love the patina effect you put on it.
