In my view you're heading the right path with darkening them down a bit but then I'm known for preferring Everything dark and gloomy 🙂 Orthodox people living life by the letter will probably point out that word bearers usually have a more violet tone (at least I think it's violet, the colour chart in my brain is not really all that up to date) but I like the red you have achieved here and variety is always welcome so I wouldn't be too bothered about those 🙂
