WIP: Horus Ascended #2
In this latest update on Horus Ascended, I’m excited to share the progress on this highly detailed model with you here on Tale of Painters. I’ve recently finished painting the base and the left shoulder pauldron. Here are my thoughts and observations on the process so far.
WIP: Horus Ascended #1
Do you remember when I reviewed Horus Ascended and boldly promised to keep you updated on the painting progress? Well, it took a bit longer than expected, but I finally got started on this magnificent model. Here’s my current progress.
WIP: Underworlds Skaven Spiteclaw’s Swarm
So I’m still working on Spiteclaw’s Swarm. I had these models in my pile of shame for quite a while, so it’s great to finally tick these off the list. I started with a test model, then completed the first batch with Skritch and Krrk,…
Showcase: Underworlds Spiteclaw’s Swarm Hungering Skaven
Hey there, I started my next painting project, Spiteclaw’s Swarm for Warhammer Underworlds. I really love Skaven, they’re one of my favourite Fantasy / Age of Sigmar factions. I’ve owned a rather large Fantasy army that I sold, I painted some Skaven for Blood Bowl / Blitz Bowl,…
WIP: Necromunda Goliath Gang with Juves #4
I’m working to bring my five model Goliath Gang to full strength, so here are five more models. New Necromunda doesn’t have dedicated models for Juves, so I thought it would be fun to mix in some classic Goliath Juve models into the mix. Like…
WIP: #new40k Indomitus Primaris Chaplain vs classic Metal Space Marines Chaplain
To celebrate the launch of the Indomitus box set and 9th Edition of #new40k Warhammer 40.000, Garfy and me thought about a special treat: Garfy will paint the new Primaris Chaplain from the Indomitus box, while I’ll paint a classic metal Chaplain from 2005, and…
WIP: Classic Ultramarines Techmarine
You say new Primaris Techmarine, I say… why not paint this classic metal Techmarine instead. This classic Jes Goodwin sculpt was released in a Company Command Squad box set just one month before Warhammer 40.000 3rd Edition arrived. I always liked this model and, as…
WIP: Necromunda Goliath Gang #3
Here is the first batch of Goliath models completed. These were great fun to paint, and, thanks to Garfy’s feedback, I’m very happy with the paint scheme in the end. I went for dark, brooding colours, with warm reds, browns and orange for a steaming-hot…
WIP: Necromunda Goliath Gang #2
Update on my Goliath gang. I’ve started working on the first batch of three models, and, thanks to some invaluable input from Garfy, settled for a paint scheme I’m happy with. We’ve got a lot of oily steel, an inverted paint scheme with red pants…
WIP: Necromunda Goliath Gang #1
Next up is something completely different, a Goliath Gang made up of the current generation models. Long-time readers of this blog might remember that I lately finished painting a complete set of classic Necromunda cardboard/bulkhead buildings, and also own a painted classic Escher gang with…
