The Mechanicum, in the Thirtieth Millennium, receives further augmentation following the recent deployment of the Mechanicum Heavy Support Box. Within this review, we dissect the Ursarax Cohorts, and conduct ocular analysis of high-resolution imagery of the sprue frames, alongside all build options.

The Ursarax Cohort Box contains 6 models in Horus Heresy scale on 40mm bases. The size of the models is roughly equivalent to that of the Thallax. Three medium-sized plastic sprues are included, as well as a transfer sheet with Construct markings, which is already familiar from the Thallax.

The level of detail on the models is extremely high, and consequently, so is the complexity of assembly. Each Ursarax is made up of a large number of small components, as you can see in the pictures of the sprues above. The kit contains six different pairs of leg poses, identical torsos with utan jump boosters, as well as six different pairs of arm poses, which you can freely combine.

For the “hands”, a total of 30 lightning claws are included. You’ll need 4 claws per model, so 24 in total for all six models, leaving a few spares. Alternatively, there are 14 grasping fingers included for building power fists. Again, you’ll need 4 fingers per model, allowing you to arm three Ursarax with power fists.

Final Verdict

The Ursurax Cohorts kit allows you to build six different models, and thanks to the various arm and leg poses, which can be freely combined, you can create almost endless combinations. However, assembly is quite complex considering the size of the models, and you can only equip half of them with power fists.
