Hi everyone, today I’m happy to showcase my first completed unit for my Stormcast Eternals collection; a unit of Liberators. You may remember seeing them in my recent Golden Demon post in which they won a finalist pin. Click to view more photos after the jump!
I decided to go for a slightly different approach to my Stormcast to normal. I knew I wanted to do gold armour, but I decided instead of going for shiny armour I went for a dulled, burnished gold appearance. I opted for the Fists of Sigmarite colour scheme from the army battletome. The armour was painted Retributor Armour and shaded with Reikland Fleshshade, Agrax Earthshade and Druchii Violet – all thinned with Lahmian Medium.
I am particularly happy with their swords. I painted these Vallejo Silver, glazed with Gulliman Blue, sponged them back with silver for the appearance of chips, and then lightly dabbed on Blood for the Blood God with a sponge to give them that ‘in the midst of battle’ appearance.
I am really pleased with how they came out, and I’m looking forward to adding more to the collection. I think this project will be a slow project, I think I will be taking my time with them.
That is a great look. I am so going to steal that sword blade idea!!!
Good job. They have a nice 40k grimdark feel to them.
Thanks Tim 🙂
I've been following you progress on Instagram with these and while I'm not a Sigmarine fan at all I have to confess that these look great. I might be inspired to give them a shot, if I can find some examples in a different colour pallet that appeals to me.

Hi Daniel, thank you very much, I'm glad you like them 🙂
I really like the way you have used a more darker and battle worn armour effect! And your own take on the stormcast is awesome.
They look fantastic.
🙂
Thank you! 🙂
Amazing quality
Thank you very much, I appreciate it 🙂
