Hi everyone, sorry I’ve been so quiet last week I was away on holiday. I did a get a little painting done. I had a break from painting black Deathwatch models and instead I’ve been painting Black Legion… not really a break I know! I am enjoying these more simplistic models. I love the detail on the Deathwatch but it’s so draining trying to paint it all. Should finish these models soon.

I like the models too. If GW makes a new chaos plastic kit, I think they should first do a new kit for the Obliterators/Mutilators or for the Havocs. Also the Berserker kit is much more older.
Na, i like the models. You have to remember these are just push-fit starter models.
I feel like some people just like to moan. The Chaos range has some amazing models in it that aren't all that old. Forgefiend, Heldrake, Raptors, Daemon Prince. Their basic chaos marine boxset is alright tbh. There are worse out there.
I guess some people just love to moan. Feel sorry for them. I much prefer seeing the good in things. Life is better that way.
Like Urak says the models themselves are awful and need updating. Urak is always the guy to point out the negative on Tales and get it right. Painting is great, but cannot compensate how bad the models are. It makes it a bit iffy.
I agree that these sculpts are looking more than a little dated -rather lacking in detail compared to the latest stuff. To call them ' ugly ' does seem a little harsh though; they wouldn't look too bad mixed in with some nicely refreshed sculpts. The Dv chosen are very cool – where is the boxed set??? I think in the hands of someone like Garfy these look cool, but I can't wait to see what happens when chaos gets its much needed update!
Chaos model range is so dated it hurts to look. Shame not all the armies get the same amount of support from GW, especially considering Chaos is one of the biggest and most important fractions in 40k… Really hurts to see the company care only about 2 or 3 fractions. As for the paint work itself, eye candy as usual, even considering the ugly sculpts. When you're done, snap a picture or two of those next the DV Chosen, should be fun.
