Aurélie from Heart Skull Studios here, today I present you a trio of Forge World Dreadnoughts I painted for an Alpha Legion commission: a Leviathan, a Contemptor, and a Deredeo. I’ll also explain how I sculpted and moulded the scenic bases in resin.

The client asked for shooty dreads, so here we have double storm cannons. Pew pew!

The Contemptor is the Alpha Legion one, unlike the others, for which I used transfers, this one has sculpted insignia.

The Deredeo has missile launchers and autocannons as well – see the pattern? 😉

The bases were made from a variety of pieces, including the concrete rubble mix from Gale Force 9, super sculpey, and a textured rolling pin from Green Stuff World. I made a mould of them so I can make copies for future products. Note that the original “master” bases will usually break apart when you remove them from the mould.

Hope you enjoy my Alpha Legion collection, stay tuned for the next post when I share my recipe for the teal metallic Alpha Legion colour in a tutorial for the Scorpius pattern Whirlwind you can see in the first picture. Leave a comment or reaction below!
