Prepare to WAAAGH! across the Mortal Realms with the new Gitmob army set. We’ll be diving deep into this box in this review and unboxing, with high-res sprue images and a look into the new Gloomspite Gitz battletome. Get ready to ride!

The new Gitmob army set will be available for pre-order starting Saturday, 1 February 2025. The pre-order period lasts two weeks, with the official release date set for 15 February 2025. Please note that there will be only one production run, so the box is available only until stocks last.
Included in the box are:
- Droggz da Sunchompa
- 2 units of Snarlpack Cavalry (3 models each)
- 2 Sunsteala Wheelas
- a special edition Gloomspite Gitz battletome
- a set of warscroll cards
The Gitmob models
The new Gloomspite Gitz battletome fleshes out another subspecies of Greenskins: the Gitmob. Unlike the Moonclans, who worship the Bad Moon, the Gitmob are the other side of the coin. These Grots don’t retreat to caves but seek out the sun to charge their weapons and gubbinz. For them, the Hyshian Light is the Evil Sun Glareface Frazzlegit, bully of the Bad Moon. The new models continue the aesthetic of the Snarlfang Riders, which in turn draws inspiration from the Wolf Riders and Goblins of Warhammer Fantasy / Warhammer The Old World.
Droggz da Sunchompa unboxed
Droggz da Sunchompa is a spectacular new character model for the Gitmob. Split across two small sprue, he and his mount come on a 60mm round base. You can choose between a helmeted and unhelmeted head, apart from that there are no other assembly or posing options for this monopose model.

Snarlpack Cavalry model review
Each Snarlpack Cavalry kit contains two medium-sized sprues with three models on 75mm oval bases. As the army set includes two of these kits, you can build a total of six models.
Each kit (3 models) offers the following options:
- Model 1 can be built as either a Champion or a regular model. The Champion is a separate 7-part model that is replaces the rear rider. Alternatively, the rear rider can be built as a regular grot, consisting of 5 parts.
- Models 2 and 3 are regular pairs of riders and have no build options.
- The heads of the Snarlfang mounts are interchangeable. While the instructions don’t mention it, the Grots’ heads can also be swapped. The connection points on the arms aren’t completely flat, so if you want to swap them, you may need to fill the gaps with green stuff. You can’t swap the riders around without some trimming though.

The Snarlpack Cavalry are cool, dynamic models but suffer from limited build options, making the models look very samey quickly. A few extra heads or arms for the riders would have been nice. The neck joints are compatible with the heads from the Sunsteela Wheela kit but not the Snarlfang Riders box.
Sunsteala Wheelas
Sunsteala Wheelas are the new chariots of the Gitmob. One kit contains one model on a 105mm oval base, spread across two medium-sized sprues. You get two of these kits, so you can build two Wheelas with this army set. There are plenty of cosmetic options for this model, inc. a whopping six grots that can be mounted in the chariot.

Each Sunsteela Wheela has the following build options:
- There are 3 wheels, of which you can choose two.
- There are 2 different pairs of Evil Sun faces to decorate the sides of the chariot.
- You can decorate the chariot with a banner spike with a torch, or a banner pole with a totem and Evil Sun face. Additionally, there’s a spear, a bow, and a barrel (optionally filled with arrows) as extra bitz.
- You can choose which of the two Snarlfangs you place on the left or right.
- The chariot driver has a choice of three heads and a sword or whip for the left arm.
- For the yoke, you can choose between two different spikes.
- Additionally, you can build a whole 6 (!) grots. Two of these can be placed as crew members in the chariot. There are two grots with spears, two with bows, and two with sword and shield. The heads have the same connection as the Snarlpack Cavalry and can be swapped around.
A look into the Gloomspite Gitz battletome
Alongside a set of warscroll cards, a special edition of the new Gloomspite Gitz battletome for the 4th Edition of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar is included. The front of the soft-touch cover features the Glareface Frazzlegit, while the back showcases the Bad Moon, both highlighted with a glossy varnish. The book is adorned with red metallic foil and a matching red metallic page edge.

The Gloomspite Gitz battletome spans over 122 pages and includes a personalized code for the Age of Sigmar app. The content is divided into a lore section, which gives equal space to both the Moonclan and the Gitmobs. The Troggoth Herds and Spiderfang are also featured. As is typical for the current generation of battletomes, the book uses a mix of hand-painted artwork and model photographs.
The second half of the book is dedicated to rules, including faction rules, updated warscrolls, Spearhead rules for the Snarlpack Huntaz, a new Gitmob Spearhead (comprising the former Snarlfang Rider Underworlds warband, 6 Snarlpack Cavalry models, and 2 Sunsteela Wheelas), as well as Path to Glory, and Armies and Regiments of Renown.
Value
The Gitmob army set has an RRP of £140 / 180 € / $230. Since the individual prices of the models included are not yet known, it is difficult to assess the value of the box. However, previous army sets typically offered a saving of 30 to 40% compared to buying the models individually. This would be sorely needed, as the box only offers 9 models.

8.0 Score
Pros
- All-new models
- Sunsteala Wheelas offer a lot of variety
- Special edition battletome
Cons
- Low model count
- Multiple copies of the same kits
- Snarlpack Cavalry has very limited build options
Final Verdict
The Gitmob shines a light on a completely new cultural aspect of the Gloomspite Gitz, and the accompanying army box contains only brand new models as well as the new battletome and warscroll cards. The models are great evolutions of the Snarlfang Riders, and the savings compared to buying them individually will certainly be great. 9 models, even if they're all quite large, isn't a lot, though. Maybe Games Workshop should start calling these army sets starter sets instead?
