Showcase: Cadian mobile command tank & Rough Rider Dirt Bike kitbashes

The releases keep on landing as we hurtle closer to the new edition of Warhammer 40,000. What a great time to be a hobbyist. If you and your brushes can keep up! 😉 

I was super excited to see the releases of the new guard vehicles. I am particularly keen to get hold of the Hippogriff AFV and Centaur RSV vehicles. I have worked hard over the past few years to grow my Cadian Astra Militarum force and paint it up to a reasonable standard. The force was actually inspired by World War II armoured mechanised divisions. So, I’m very much looking forward to expanding it with these new options. 

One of the things I particularly like about my Cadians and Astra Militarum in general is the opportunities one gets for the personalisation of my models. I wanted to share with you a few kitbash conversions of some vehicles I have completed for my army. 

Cadian mobile command

First up is my commander in mobile command vehicle. Although I really like the Lord Solar model. This is my take on this character that I feel fits better with my theme. The base is the same size as Lord Solar (I think) so it’s all aimed to provide a thematic narrative driven army to enjoy on the tabletop. Reminds me I need to really write some background for this chap as he has seen some action against Garfy’s armies over the years. 

Rough Rider Dirt Bikes kitbash

Next up is my Rough Rider Dirt Bikes. The GSC bikes are great and knew I wanted some Rough Riders in my army. This was the perfect opportunity. Again, I really like the GW rough Riders, brilliant models, but this just gave me the opportunity to make mine fit better with the type of force I was building.
