Long time no update. I’ve spent a couple of days in Lisboa last week, and since then my hobby mojo goes pretty slow. I’m afraid at this point this model became a drag. Hopefully it gets better, now that I’ve finished the upper carapace. I added the two bone-white stripes of the Knight Baron, the design on the tilted plate denoting the Knight as a Forge Master. I didn’t glue the pilot’s hatch in place, as I’ve basecoated this piece in yellow separately. It’ll be painted in the same striped pattern as the left knee pad.

While I’m writing this I realised that I accidentally switched around the colours of the Cog Mechanicus… so I need to repaint this before I can start the arms. Yay… What do you think?

The mysterious masked Stahly is the founder and mastermind of Tale of Painters. Hailing from Craftworld Germany, he has been walking the Path of the Warhammer Collector since childhood. Over the decades, he has painted multiple armies and countless warbands and miniatures. When he's not painting miniatures or working on his library of hand-painted colour swatches, he's testing the latest paints, tools and model kits with German precision and a no non-sense attitude.

It looks awesome, what paints are you using for the whites?
I do my mechanicus cogs the way you have it painted, black skull on left on white on the right. This matches the fully-detailed symbol where the left is machine (black like iron) and the right is human skull (white like bone). I've noticed it's all-but-interchangeable and the studio has no set way of painting it. Personal preference?
