Great paint treatment on not so great models. You've managed to convey an air of menace that eluded the heavy metal team and left them with an awkward and derpy grimdark tweedle dee and tweedle dum.
Great paint jobs. You're fast becoming one of my favourite painters! 🙂
Hey all. Thanks for all the comments :). I think it would have been nice if GW had maybe made some new models for the Obliterators and started the Mutilators from fresh with the release of the new codex. I agree that the models are looking a little dated and do need a face lift.
As for tutorials I will start doing some in the next couple of posts.
The models I find ugly but at the same time they fit the fluff description in the book to a T. I mean when you have a passage that reads "stretched skin pulled back from distorted faces" um… it's kind of hard to have the image not be what the models are.
Still your paint job is really great.
Yours look better than the ones in the book. Of course I'd like to see them in some other chapter colors…
Great paint job…ugly models. What was GW thinking?
Flesh parts are stunning, Great job
Not bad or good as their shooting counterpart. I switched the heads of my Nurgle Obliterators with some Forge World Death Guard Marines. Great paint job, please tutorial for all your latest Chaos model!
Well, to tell you the truth, I count myself among those who really hate the models and feel GW really dropped the ball here. That being said, your paintjob comes as close to actually making them look cool as is humanly possible! Fantastic job there, mate!
Like always a bad ass paintjob. Wonder if I'll ever be that good…
But I don't really like the models neither the impact on the battle field.
You've made them look really nasty. They looked pretty goofy in the 'Eavy Metal picture, but you've nailed them.
I like the paint job you've done. But I still don't like the faces!
