I started to paint the first three guys of my shotgun armed Scout squad. Notice the alternate heads which are drawn from various Space Marine sprues. Left to do is skin, hair, the black areas, silver areas and the occasional detail. The painting so far was quite straightforward and fun and even though the details of the plastic Scouts aren’t as sharp as the kits GW puts out nowadays they will turn out quite neat.

You can look up all the colours I used for my Marines in this post: http://stahlyspaintstation.blogspot.com/2010/04/ultramarines-tutorial-and-colour.html Basecoat is Mordian Blue, it's a great blue, not too dark nor to light and it's not too bright as well.

Here is a comparison: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PH1CD61Ox3k/S9yCXernGdI/AAAAAAAAAMI/6S93ojCohUQ/s1600/CIMG7974.JPG Scout models are meant to be abit smaller than PA Marines.
I'm waiting to see how your scouts look once they've been painted before I start on my own… I'm no huge fan of the scout heads, but the 'regular' heads seem to be a slightly smaller scale. I'm hoping that it's just an illusion!
Looking good.
Is that Ultramarines blue as a basecoat? It looks purplish…
