Hey all, hope your all looking forward to the weekend. Today I wanted to ask everyones opinion on what you think I should do.
I have had 2 boxes of the old finecast Chaos Obliterators laying around for quite a few years and finally decided last night to put them together. Can’t say I am that impressed with the models and am at a crossroads of thought whether to paint them or just ditch the idea and try and make my own Obliterators out of spare parts! I was also considering perhaps purchasing some of Forge Worlds Plague Ogryns and converting them. Another thought was to use the Forge World Blight Drones as Obliterators, but maybe they will be to big!.
So what do you think? Should I paint the finecast ones above, make my own or just purchase some Blight Drones?

honestly, there are plenty of 3rd party obliterator models out there, if you paint those, at least change the heads, better looking than the first obliterators, but still pretty horrible. Just google 'obliterated by chaos'
greenstuff over the bits you dont like and then paint?
I'll probably leave them as they are. Just wish GW would release some new models for them as these guy's are looking real dated compared to a lot of other models. I'm sure a new updated set would sell really well.
Hey all, looking over the comments and having thought about it I will paint them up and see how they turn out. Thanks for all the feedbacks. Cheers guys 🙂
I once had a Blight Drone. It's too big. Paint these and sell them….
I had good results with a few minor tweaks to the original kit, first I ditched the heads for normal chaos terminator heads, added trophy rack bits to the weird cables on their backs, then organised all the random arrays of barrels into interesting combinations, like two plasmaguns and flamers on one hand and all blades on the other. The end result had them looking more like the next step in the mutation of a terminator, and less like the hands are randomly sprouting guns.
+ 1, I'm sure a couple bits and conversion love would see these guys look better than they are. As it is, there's no guarantee when GW would get around to update them.
Spare parts and conversion into ogryns is the first thing that comes to mind with your special paint style, would look amazing!
Paint them. Or make your own and give these to me, lol.
Seriously though, paint them.
Make your own…
Paint them. Just do it.
Convert the original models?
I really wouldn't paint them as they are.
I've seen some great results converting them out of Centurions!

IMHO I'll go and paint these models. First, you've already assembled and prepared them, so it's a fairly amount of job done. Moreover, the Internet is full of people saying that these models are rubbish. So for me it would be a great oportunity to show off your skills and do an awesome paintjob on them. It would enhance the details and give a second chance to those guys.
Cheers!!
