Hi all, it’s Aurélie and I’m back with my rendition of Mortarion. What a stunning (and daunting model) to paint. Unlike the ‘Eavy Metal version, I opted for the Horus Heresy era paint scheme with bone armour and green shoulder guards. Check out more pictures after the jump.
For the wings I went for fleshy red hues, which I thought would make a nice contrast to the greens I used.
Some more pictures on a black background, which helps to take a better look at the armour. I added subtle grime and rust effects, which compliment the bone of the armour nicely.
Hope you like my Mortarion, I’m looking forward to read your thoughts in the comments section. Follow me on Instagram, and if you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Woah that's pretty, white deathguard are my favorite.
Good call on shooting with the black background. Works much better with your color scheme. Might be my favorite version of this miniature – nicely done!
I like this much more than the GW one. Great work
