Hello everyone, today I’m back with some new additions to what remains of the XIIth Legion. See you inside.
There’s been a number of new units and models I’ve completed for both my armies over the last year or so, but I haven’t been able to snap any pictures of most of them until recently, so there’s more coming soon 🙂
Today we’re taking a look at my newest addition – a full set of three characters I’m never leaving home without from now on. The Exalted Champion was always among my favourite new units in 8th edition for Chaos Space Marines, and now that the Thunder Hammer was finally added to CSM wargear options, these guys are truly a force to be reckoned with.
The models were converted using Vrosh from Dark Vengeance and the new Havocs kit, combined with various bitz and pieces I’ve collected over the years. Helmets were made using AoS Khorne Bloodbound bits and the hammers are a simple kitbash utilizing weapons from Skullreapers box.
The new Havocs provide some amazing, big and buffed up bodies perfect for creating your own characters and making them stand out among regular troops (especially when they’re 20 years old models and a head shorter).
As a small bonus here’s a pic of the classic Forge World Ferrum Infernus World Eaters Dreadnought I managed to find some time ago and finally painted up.
Be sure to let me know what you think and see you soon!

Great idea with the Havoc bodies. They look super beefy!
This is such a cool conversion!
Can you tell us how the bunny ears were fitted on? Did you carve out the previous owner's head or swap the "face"?
Sure, that's exactly what I've done. I carved and filed down the AoS heads until only the crest remained. Then I filed the CSM helmets down a bit until they fit with the crests and glued them toghether. After that you only need to green stuff the seam so it's… seamless 🙂

Hey dude what set are the hammers from? I know you said skullreaper but I can only find flails from that kit. Looks great!
