Got to finish Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka and his lucky sidekick Makari!
What a model. He’s huge. Bigger than a Dreadnought with that base.
On Ghazghkull himself I went with a colour scheme very akin to the army he’s leading. Didn’t even look at the studio paintjob much at all. Sometimes I use other paintjobs for reference of course, but I got the recipes for that army very much down now, and the conversion warrants a paintjob that’s not too close to any others out there.
With Makari I on the other hand I went with something rather similar in approach to the ‘Eavy Metal paintjob (do they still use that term? Or again? You never know with GW). I’m an old person, so they got to me with using basically the same design as on the original banner. Just varied a little on the top and so on, but i also even used the same glyphs. Fun little model. and of course a fun big model as well. 🙂 Hope you like them, and stay tuned for army shots on here or on the Battle Brush Studios website!

So well done! I wish we had ours. =(
I love the slight tweaking of the weapons…
The klaw looks more like an older incarnation of G's klaw (but bigger) and looks like it would work better irl (like a demolition claw).
The cannon looks like its been ripped off a leviathan dreadnought, which is awesome.
Great dark paintjob just ties it all together. Love it!
Thanks very much for the comment, Richard!
I only got to paint the figures, but from what the bare plastic looked like the klaw is a proper kustom job, with all sorts of bits, plasticard, green stuff and so on built in. Good stuff.
I also like the longer barrels on the gun. The original very stubby and weirdly thick barrels don't really do it for me. I think this way he looks better and the fact that his model is so huge and has got this huge claw on the other end can take the longer barrels without looking unbalanced.
