The first quarter of 2025 is over, and I’m showing you my progress in the #WarhammerChallenge. With the completion of Zikkit’s Tunnelpack, I’ve already managed to fill a complete row, and in this showcase post you can gaze over the result.

Last week, I posted Zikkit Rockgnaw, the leader of Zikkit’s Tunnelpack (more pictures here). Now, here’s the rest of this Clan Skyre themed warband. I think the models are mega cool yes-yes, and (almost) every Skaven could be the archetype for a new Warhammer Age of Sigmar unit. The Killwheel, the Skyre Acolytes, the scissorhands…
My Warhammer challenge so far
Earlier this year, I’d set myself the goal of taking part in the New Year #WarhammerChallenge and completing at least one row of the hobby bingo in the first quarter. With the completion of Zikkit’s Tunnelpack (and my first test game of the new Warhammer Underworlds edition, which I successfully won with Zikkit), I’ve already filled a complete row on the bingo card! Let’s see how many more squares I can tick off by the end of the year…

How to paint Zikkit’s Tunnelpack
Zikkit’s Tunnelpack was painted in the same colour scheme as my Clanrats test models from Skaventide. I used a combination of a zenithal basecoat, Slapchop-style basecoats with Contrast paint, and additional layers and highlights. I explain this in detail in this free Skaven step-by-step tutorial:
I’ve also tried out some new painting techniques and recipes for Zikkit’s Tunnelpack in order to tick off another square on the card.

For example, I’ve been playing around with a stronger verdigris effect and added other types of metal that you won’t find in the tutorial: For the lighter brass, I primed with Two Thin Coats Battle Axe Brass, washed with Agrax Earthshade, applied thinned Vallejo Game Color Scurvy Green verdigris, and highlighted with TTC Platinum Crown. The dark brown metal is P3 Deathless Metal, washed with Targor Rageshade, VGC Scurvy Green for the verdigris, and Pro Acryl Dark Bronze for highlights. The rust effect on the steel is a 1:1 mix of Fuegan Orange and Pro Acryl Brown Wash, as well as thinned Squig Orange.
