This weekend sees not only the release of Spitewood, the new expansion for Warhammer Underworlds, but also the reissue of 16 classic warbands across four four-warband bundle boxes. So, the perfect occasion to dig through our archives and put together our five best paint jobs from the reissued warbands for you.
Without further ado, here are the best posts from over 15 years of Tale of Painters:
1. The Skinnerkin
From the Morbid Minions bundle box, Garfy painted the gruesome Skinnerkin in his iconic pale Flesh-eater Courts scheme.
2. Zarbag’s Gitz
The Gitz and Goliaths bundle box has, surprise surprise, a lot of Gitz. Here are Zarbag’s Gitz, painted by Stahly.
3. Thricefold Discord
Reavers of Ruin bring back a lot of classic Chaos warbands, such as the Hedonites of Slaanesh deamons of the Thricefold Discord, here painted by Garfy.
4. The Wurmspat
The Wurmspat are another iconic Chaos warband with three characterful Nurgle sculpts. Here is how our guest painter Arkaan tackled them.
5. Xandire’s Truthseekers & Warcry: Crypt of Blood
Xandire’s Truthseekers return in the Seekers in Shadow Grand Alliance of Order bundle box. It’s not the first re-release, as the Truthseekers have been part of the Warcry: Crypt of Blood starter set, which Garfy painted in its entirety.
