Showcase: #marchformacragge 2nd Edition 40k starter set Ultramarine (incl. paint recipes)
Today I present my entry for this years March for Macragge hobby event, a “statue” Marine model from the 2nd Edition Starter Set of Warhammer 40.000, painted to emulate the ‘Eavy Metal style back then. It’s actually the first model I painted when I started the hobby over 20 years ago! Check out more pictures on a glorious light blue gradient in this post.
Showcase: Classic Dwarf Lords
Here’s some characters for the army, breaking with the Marauder theme of the army a bit.
Showcase: Classic Marauder Dwarf Quarrelers
Another small unit of old-school Dwarfs – here’s some Quarrelers!
Showcase: Classic Heroquest (full set)
To round it all off, here’s the whole Heroquest set all finished and set up together for a nice group shot. I just really like those figures. I mean it’s hard not to; there’s a whole generation of wargamers basically imprinted on these lumps of…
Showcase: Classic Marauder Dwarf Hammerers
Here’s the first unit of a small army of amazing Marauder Dwarfs I painted a while ago. To me this range is the definitive GW Dwarf range. Lovely character in those faces and several fun little details. The variety in poses (accentuated by huge iron…
Showcase: Heroquest Villains
What’s a hero without a villain though? Just another undesirable troublemaker. So here’s the two Big Bads of Heroquest, the surprisingly buff Chaos Warlock, and the Greater Daemon of Kh- no, wait. The Bloodthi-, no, sorry, entirely wrong there. It’s the Gargoyle of course! Remember…
Showcase: Heroquest Heroes
Here’s our heroes! It’s hard to come up with postings for these without using the word ‘iconic’. Especially with these chaps. I mean this guy is THE White Dwarf after all. And all the others as there too! Angry Elf, 5-Spaces-Stare Barbarian, and of course…
Showcase: Heroquest Furniture
Alright, this one might take a bit of abstraction. Most of you will instantly recognize the Heroquest furniture. And that they’re lacking the cardboard parts. Oh well. All I can say is that in the not-too-distant future I’ll post another set of Heroquest, and that…
Showcase: Heroquest Chaos Warriors and Fimir
Here come the Heavies of Heroquest, the Dealers of Damage, the Clenchers of Fists – it’s the Chaos Warriors and Fimir. The former of course are classics and very familiar to anybody who ever dipped a toe into the sweet lake of Games Workshop. Fimir…
Showcase: Heroquest Orcs & Goblins
Back to Heroquest! Starting with some of the most iconic Orcs and Goblins figures anyone could think of. Painting Heroquest is always good fun. These figures are clear, cast cleanly, and very much reduced to the important bits. Just brilliant stuff. 😀 Hope you like…
