It has been a ridiculously busy week for me since the release of the new Dark Angels models. And on top of that trying to move into a new house. Starting with the Nephilim Jetfighter, probably my favorite out of the new models. The model itself was easy enough to put together and a lot of fun to paint. I went for a more grittier look than the one GW painted. But in all I’m pretty pleased in how it turned out. And should hopefully have some more of the Dark Angels models up later this week. What do you all think?

Hi, can you share how you blacked out the canopy? Thanks.
Hey thanks all for the positive feedback and glad you liked.
Love that black to white fade on the tail. Nice weathering too. I like the blacked out canopy too. Gives it a menacing feeling.
Wow, that is wonderful looking! It is amazing you finished it so quickly, I too am waiting for some DA models I ordered to arrive… I think the grittier look suits it better then the Eavy Metal paint job.
Looks sweet. Could you talk a bit about the painting of the wings (the clear areas)?
Hi Albert, I basically used masking tape to border of the sides of the white area on the wings. This created a stencil so that I could airbrush white over the original black of the wings. I then used a sepia was over the white to dull it down. And then used burnt umber oil paint to paint the rivets etc. Hope that helps. Chris
Thanks for the information on how you did the wing parts. Will make it easier to do up mine then 🙂 Cheers for this!
Thanks, will give it a try!
Really great job here. Your style really works on vehicles here indeed. Love the grit and damage on it. I have one in the queue as well to do up, so will come back for ideas!
Wow that was fast haven't even got the one I pre ordered yet 😛 Really good paint job, I really like the gritty and worn look to it, oh the things you can do with an airbrush. Looking forward seeing more of your Dark Angels
Nice job man, really love this model. Seriously making me think about picking one up for some kind of diorama!
