OK I’m kicking this project’s arse now. I’m making great progress with this squad after a dismal start! The company I bought the rust paint from replaced the faulty product and the new one works great. I’ve refined painting the rust and it now includes rust weathering powder, rust effect paint and stippling silver. I’m loving the textured look to these. It’s adding a nice level of detail to an otherwise bland and uninteresting model. Same goes for the gauss rod. The extra effort painting intricate lighting and energy detail is much more pleasing to the eye then a green plastic toy rod. Watch this space for a finished squad shot soon.
