Ok I promised to complete this batch last weekend, unfortunately Scourges are very detailed models with lots of different textures, so everything takes longer than expected. Busy times at my job with lots of overtime doesn’t help exactly either. Anyways, I’m going to put the last finishing touches to these two models over the next couple of days. As you can see, I kept the wings black like on GW’s studio army. I thought about other colours for the wings like leather brown as suggested by one of our readers, but then there already are so many spot colours on these models, like the blue of the hair and the green of the fluid containers and eyes (not yet painted). So I came to the conclusion that black might be the best solution. What do you think?

Thanks a lot, we appreciate any help to continue and grow Tale of Painters 🙂
I did a tut on making leathery like wings for my scourges. Something similar could be done in dark greys and black to give a translucent effect to the leather on the wings while still keeping it monochromatic and dark.

Wow, another awesome tutorial of yours 🙂 But for these models I like to keep it simple, don't want to get out the airbrush for them. But I'm gonna use your fluid container tutorial for my Scourges.
Keep going Stahly, I think you're doing amazingly well.
The wings look a bit unfinished compared to the rest of the mini. Maybe a light sponge of purple or grey and then a wash of black to knock it back and break up all that solid black – just seems too smooth and solid given the level of work on the armour and hair 😉
Looking great. How about a light airbrush of purple, like you did on your Raider, to add some color to the wings…perhaps in the center/ edges of the wings where the membrane would be thinner and possibly more transparent.
Keep up the great work. After spending several weeks trying to come up with paint scheme I enjoyed, you've inspired me to go a similar route with my own Dark Eldar.
