I painted these guys up about a week ago for a customer who is using them for a Kill Team. I never played Kill Team, but the general idea sounds pretty fun. I enjoyed painting these models, but wish I drilled the gun ends. But that’s quick to fix. I’m trying my best to widen the use of colour in my work. It’s not as easy as it seems though as I generally get asked to paint in schemes similar to the work you have seen before. And trying to get to get free time to paint my own models is not happening at the moment. I do however have a order upcoming for Imperial Fist. So Yellow 🙂 What do you guys think? Any of you tried Kill Team?

Howdy,
These look really nice, I understand what you mean by the lack of colour in your other models but as someone who commissions you the style you currently have is what made me choose you over other painters.

Hey thanks 🙂 Its nice to hear as I often get a lot of flak for not using every colour under the sun. I personally like things that way. Its mainly my wife "Why dont you use more colour" :).
They look real nice!
I like the look of Kill Teams, it presents the prospect of using some of the more underused selections in a Codex, like these Stealth Suits.
I on the other hand have some Howling Banshees painted up ready for some Kill Team games.
Which brand/color did you use for the suits and sept?
Nice work, great bases as well. Really sets the whole lot off.
Great job! A few mold lines on the guns but overall really awesome. For some reason they make me think of space suit, I guess that is the white and orange.
These look great. I really like the transition from all the grey on the suits towards earth colors on the ground.
I have a question for all the ToP painters, now that I see rocks as bases for the suits (I'm of course assuming that those rocks are slate and not something else brilliantly painted 🙂 ). I would really appreciate it if you could look into it. What methods do you use to attach your models to the slate/rock? I tried pinnng, but the rocks I find around are simply too strong for the hand drill I have (I use a 1mm drill point) and I revert back to using superglue (which is not very effective for models that do not stand on two feet).
Aside from not using actual rocks for a base, is there a solution to my problem?
Hey Romer, I use a mixture of cork tiles, Araldite quick bond glue, sand and bits of smashed up slate. Araldite 2 part quick dry glue is really powerful for gluing up bases when attaching ripped up pieces of cork tiles and slate etc. You can also use Milliput. All these things you can purchase on Ebay or your local hardware store.
It would probably be interesting to write a article on base making as I'm sure everyone on Tale of Painters does it differently. I'll try and write a post up this weekend to show you what I do.
the orange touch is really nice. i would have put some more highlight on the actual faces tho. give them a "glowing" effect. that would have been really cool.
nice to see you are using other colours!

Hey thanks, You know we are actually planning on moving next year to either Antwerp or Amsterdam!! We liked it that much 🙂
Kill team is my favourite way to play 40k, fast, exciting and almost always entertaining – the updated rules have done lots to balance it out too. I've got a Sternguard team and am working on both an Eldar and Tau team too.
