Hey all : ) Just want to share my video about airbrushing. I put together some useful tips to give you an idea of what the airbrush is about, what to think about before getting it and the airbrushes that we use at the studio. I know just too well how frustrating it may be to start airbrushing and all the advice that we share have been earned the hard way. I made tons of mistakes with my airbrushes, starting from not cleaning my airbrush properly to not knowing anything about health protection. So hope this video can provide some tips for some of you who are thinking to start airbrushing. Feel free to ask me questions 🙂

Biggest tip I wish I had know when I started: adjust your pressure depending on what you're doing. ~30psi for base coating, 15 for detail work. Lower pressure will let you get close to the model without loadin up paint.
That's some pretty good advice I would say 🙂
Great video! I've always found airbrushing a bit intimidating, even after having used it several times. I have a Testor's model, with the enclosed "screw on" needles/heads, and even THOSE have to be disassembled and cleaned thoroughly, so your emphasis on responsibility is spot on!
Hey Thanks 🙂 Cleaning is a must, but a lot of times I forget and then kick myself when the thing starts screwing up and I have to spend forever cleaning it.
Loved the bit about painters who say "I painted this without using an airbrush". I've been saying that a lot with my Haruspex lol.
I totally agree though, it's about using the right tool for the job.
Hey cheers dude 🙂
I wish I would've watched a video like this before I bought my Badger Sotar. Amazon sold it at an amazing price but the parts are hard to come by and really expensive. Had I thought to check this I probably would've bought another airbrush.
Good video, nice and informative.
Could I get some advice on a respirator to get, I have a spray booth but no respirator & like you said your health comes first 🙂
Thanks
Hi Matthew,
I use DeVilbiss "VALUAIR" Half Mask Respirator:
http://www.everythingairbrush.com/acatalog/Respirators_and_Extractors.html
But they don't do sizes. I am also looking into M3 half masks, as they do s/m/l sizes:

But no sure which filter to use as yet. I was recommended to write to the company with all the info from the paints I am using, but still awaiting response : (

I'm sorry if I missed this in the video, but what paints do you use? Do you have any tips on thinning GW paints? Thanks
I just wanna know who the beautiful lady is cause I'd love you just sit and talk to her for hours.
