I love the look of the Toxicrene so much, I just had to rush out and buy one. The tendrils, the tentacles, the pulsing spore sacs on the carapace… the whole thing is just one horrific, creepy monster. After the jump there is a size comparison shot featuring some of my other Tyranid models.
As you can see, the Toxicrene is huge. I would say it’s bigger than the Haruspex and Tyrannofex and it dwarfs a Carnifex!
I can’t wait to paint this model. Who else collects Tyranids? Will you add one of these to your collection? Or do you prefer the Maleceptor?

Have this model also, and I think with the new Drop Pods and rules Tyranids are finally getting what they deserve. Watched a 2 hour documentary on Gieger of the making of Alien over on Youtube last night.

I prefer the looks of the maleceptor, but unfortunately its rules as absolute rubbish. I might do a conversion so the toxicrene doesnt have these weird tentacle arms.
I don't collect Nids but this model is sure divining swinging me in their favor. I did, however, rush out and get one as a gift for hubby, since they're his favorite army. I might need to pick one up for myself, it's just too cool.
If I ever throw money at 40k ever again it's going to be tyranids

The Toxicrene is a beautiful model I would like to get my hands on. However I still have a Trygon to finish and a lot of other models with tentacles to think about it.
Can't wait to see one with your color scheme, the pattern will look great on the gigantic carapace!
