Hey all, today I bring the new Khorne Bloodthirster model. As with all the End Times model’s I’m really impressed with what they did.
These model’s seem to keep getting better and I’m really looking forward to what else GW may be coming up with. I’m hoping and I’m guessing it probably will happen at some point that they will replace all the current Finecast Chaos Greater Daemons with new larger updated models. I think a new Greater Daemon of Slaanesh or a Nurgle one would be awesome. Some point today I will hopefully be picking up a couple of boxes of the new Wrathmongers and Skullreapers. I really love the 90’s feel to how they look. What do you guys think?

Excellent model, excellent paint job. I had some initial misgivings about the new bloodthirster but seeing it painted up with your color scheme, I see now my doubts had more to do with the palette chosen by the GW painters than the actual mini. Having waited 20 years for a proper bloodthirster miniature, I am quite eager to get my hands on this one (I could never get myself to take the plunge for the forge world bloodthirster).
Cheers Andrew π Has it really been 20 years. I'm feeling old Arrrrrrghhh π
20 years since I first started painting Khorne minis. The previous bloodthirster is younger than that (not by much) and he got a head update somewhere in the early aughts. But it's nice to finally have a model that doesn't look like an angry goat with fists the size of his head.
Dude amazing. I bow to your skills! My only complaint or pickiness are the darkness of the wings and the chest.. But its just my opinion maybe my eyes just don't like how the color looks? The detail is amazing everywhere else Its just me. π As I type this though i see you were having issues with your pictures. Big wings like that would take away a lot of light hmmmm
As much as I loved painting him, he was a pain in the a** to photo π But I think I got a good idea of how he turned out.
Really excellent job there mate, models like that really suit your style of painting and I agree the end times releases have been superb.
Looks brilliant. A model just made for your painting style!
Hey cheers Stahly, he was a lot of fun to do π
Hey cheers Tim, I think your find the base is more the fault of my camera and lighting as I took the picture at night. I found the model quite difficult to photograph due to shadow cast from the wings and as a result the base took a hit from lighting glare, even though I tried to photoshop it down. I even had the Fstop at 22 to try and get everything in and not to blur. My camera is pretty old and often has trouble trying to get everything in focus when it comes to larger models.
That daemon looks sweet! red is a great color! However, if I were to nit-pick something (and I am to) it would be that the base is a mis-match. Seems like the base should be warm colors or something. It almost seems as though the base hasn't been painted yet, just primed. I dunno thats just me. Otherwise I really like the daemon. Those eyes are very evil!
