Static Grass is a great way to add detail to your bases but sometimes it can look like a Troggoth has stamped on it. In today’s ToP Tip I’ll share a couple of ideas to get your grass standing tall. Check it out after the jump.

Static Grass
It’s Finger flicking good!

My first tip is super simple and sometimes those are the best ones. Once you’ve added a blob of pva glue to your base and sprinkled your static grass, just flip the model upside down and flick the bottom of the base hard with your finger a few times. That should help agitate it into a more upright position.

Static Grass meet static electricty

The second tip is a little unconventional and involves rubbing an inflated balloon on your jumper to charge it with static electricity. Once you have your static grass sprinkled on your wet glue, hold the balloon near it to make the grass strands stand upright.

From left to right; straight out of the tub, finger flicking and balloon.

What do you think? I’ve always flicked my bases, how about you? What do you do with your static grass, let me know in the comments.
