This post is dedicated to a size comparison of the new plastic Cadians. Let’s see how they scale up to other human models such as Death Korps of Krieg, Kasrkin, Traitor Guardsmen, Firstborn and Primaris Marines, and more!
Check out my animated video here:
Please note: there is a small mistake in the video, Kasrkin come on 28 mm bases, not 32 mm.
As you can see, the proportions of the new sculpts have become more realistic, with much smaller heads. They’re tiny, especially compared to the new plastic Kasrkin, which stand much taller and have larger heads – and keep in mind both of the heads shown here have feminine features.
And by the way, the bodies are unisex and both the masculine and feminine heads are the same size.
Now let’s compare the old and new Cadians with other human models from my collection. The new models still come on 25mm bases and they scale up quite nicely with plastic Death Korps of Krieg and Traitor Guardsmen, while Vostroyans have the more heroic scale proportions like the old Cadian models.
The new models also scale up well to Skitarii, but are much smaller than Goliath Gangers and look at that poor Firstborn Space Marine. I also added one of the current Chaos Space Marine models, which are in between Firstborn and Primaris Marines.
You can find a detailed unboxing & review of the new Astra Militarum army set here, including high-res sprue pics of all the models included, such as the new Cadian Command Squad, the Field Ordnance Battery Teams, the new Sentinel, and of course, the Cadian Shock Troops:
I hope you enjoyed this scale comparison video, I love to geek out about scale and other miniature design details. Let me how you like the new Cadians in the comment section, leave a reaction, and come over to our friendly Discord server to discuss all things modelling and painting.

Thanks very much for this comparison, exactly what I was looking for!
in your opinion, will the bitz be roughly compatible with the older Cadians? Everything looks so much more slender…
