I always paint the base of flyers quite early on in a project so I can glue the stand to the base. This then gives me somewhere to rest the model. I really like this model. It looks a lot better in the flesh then it did in White Dwarf and it looks even better when placed next to my Storm Raven.
I think, I might paint inside the cockpit and the pilot next. That way I’ll be able to glue the canopy in place. Watch the skies, more to follow soon.

That will be OK…
Could you name colors you use in that WIP's?
Cheers dude!
Hey deka, I have more WIP blogs planned, you should be able to piece together how I paint the model from each WIP post. Feel free to ask any questions. Finished model showcase blog by the end of the week.
Looking very nice for now…
Maybe you could do tutorial for painting Ultramarine Storm Talon?
Scotrot, this should answer all your questions and your wallet will thank you.

What airbursh do you use? I'm looking for an upgrade.
Hi Vladdd309, yes I used my airbrush to get an even coat of Ultramarines Blue all over, I then used the airbrush to line the armour plates with a darker blue. Finally I used a lighter blue to add some subtle area highlights. I didn't want to go too over the top with the highlights at this stage because it can look too airbrushed if that makes sense.
Great start. Airbrushed used for the blue tones shading?
