I’ve finished the first batch of Shadow Spectres, the three models on the left. They just need an aspect rune transfer on their brows. I’m really happy how the paint scheme turned out, and very pleased of the crystal effect. I already started the second batch by painting the armour and basecoating the weapons. Hope to get them finished soon. With the new Dark Eldar releases, I’m really tempted by adding something new to my Dark Eldar collection.
How do you like the three finished models?

Stahly hails from Craftworld Germany and has been involved with Warhammer since childhood. He has painted several armies and countless warbands and Kill Teams over the decades, and founded Tale of Painters in 2011. When he's not painting miniatures incredibly slowly, he's testing the latest paints, tools and kits with German precision and a no non-sense attitude.
Wow, amazing work! I just ordered them, and i'm curious to know what silver exactly you used and with wich color did you prime them?
The crystal effect looks great. I also like the shine on the loincloths, very well done.
Did you brush blend the crystals or did you use an airbrush?
The shine will disappear once I apply a coat of matt varnish 😉 I used a brush for the crystals.
What colours did you use for the crystal effect? I want to replicate something like that for my Fire Prism and it looks really good on the models you have done.
Hey Nick, basecoat was Khorne Red, then I applied thin layers of the following colours: Wazdakka Red, Pink Horror, Emperors Children, VGC Squid Pink and a final thin edge highlight and a little dot in the upper right of P3 Carnal Pink.
Wow i like them!! The Crystal effect works nicely! And the floating vest to me looks made of glass…i don't know if its only me but i like it!
Forge resin quality changed in this years, i hope that they are not so "old"…
Well I like them , they look pretty fragile for gaming with though .
I was skeptical at first but the scheme turned out really nice. The tabards add a nice splash of colour.
