I painted this squad a couple of years ago now, and these are the pictures I originally took back then. Pretty terrible photography when compared to my latest efforts. All the models are plastic conversions with freehand icons painted (handy tutorial here). Read on for links to other handy Ultramarine painting tutorials.
These guys look awesome with their storm shields taken from the assault terminators. I used some beaky heads and studded pads I had in bitz box to make them look more veteran.
The sergeant’s sword is taken from the Honour Guard Champion and the backpack is Captain Shrike’s of the Ravenguard. All of the models have had Crux’s added to the top of the jump packs and hanging from their belts. Lots of Bronze/Gold has been used to make these stand out from the standard Assault Marines.
