I'm curious about what colour this was undercoated. Did you start from black and work up to bone and white or undercoat white and darken it all down.
All those nooks seem very dark.
im also curious about the undercoat! really nice colur scheme and execution btw!
How did you make the weathering/battle damage effect? It almost looks like you used a small sponge.
These guys look wonderfully ancient, just how I'd imagine Eldar to look.
+1 for the tutorial please, or a few pointers 🙂
The shading is beautiful, it is very subtle. Have you used an oil wash. Also shiny helmets ftw, great effect!
I basically used a combination of GW Bleached Bone and Scar White that is airbrushed on in thin layers. The shading was done with GW sepia and brown wash, again in layers using Pledge Klear.
Any chance that you will make a tutorial on how you painted these and/or the Tau? They are pretty amazing, good job.
TEN, did you gloss the faceplates? Or satin or…?
Hi Minijunkie, yep the faceplates have been glossed.
I have been playing eldar since 03 but I haven't had a chance to get the new dex yet.
The new codex looks good from what I've read so far.
Hi ThirdEyeNuke,
These look superb! I really like the colour scheme you've gone with. I fancy having a dabble with an Eldar army myself, but I'm working on a Dark Angels army myself.
One question though… how have you done the bases? They look great and I've been searching for a really effective basing method for a while now.
Cheers for the great posts.
Hi Jack, Thanks for the thumbs up. For the bases I usually use a combination of cork, slate and sand. The cork you can purchase on Ebay as tiles, the slate you can find in most DIY store and for sand I use the one GW sells. Hope that helps.
Thanks very much for the tip, I'll be grabbing some cork tiles soon!
I might try it out on my new Space Marine Terminator Chaplain that's just arrived 🙂
Started collecting Eldar this summer, so picked up the new codex and have added the new wraithguard (some of my favourite new models) as well as a crimson hunter. The more Wraith Knights I see, the more I want one!!
Excellent work on this one T, did it take long to construct and paint?
The Wraithguards are pretty darn cool. As I remember the Wraithknight did not take that long to put together. Around 3 hours max with breaks etc.
the bone is unbelivable.
