This is the first character model in the showcase series of my winter themed Wood Elves. The rumors hint that the kindred system is being removed and replaced with straight themed character choices that fit those roles. Either way is fine by me and we’ll all know for sure this weekend when the new book arrives.
I love this model and the fluff of the Alter Kindred so much that I always included this one in my lists. If memory serves this was also the inspiration for the fur trim that I sculpted on the rest of the army. The uppers of his boots, trim around his quiver and capelet come standard issue on this bro.
Please keep in mind that this was painted eight years ago when my skill was still limited. Plus the model has seen numerous years of play and so it is a little banged up.

I assume this post was retroactively done given the book has been out since last weekend?
Nice paintjob btw
Yeah there is sometimes a delay in the time when we write and when we post. I should have avoided any language that hinted at that … pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. 😉
How do you do horns / antlers like that? I could never get them done…
For these horns I did very thin paint blended down toward the helm. You can actually get the same effect and often just as smooth with light controlled dry brushing if you struggle with blending. They were done with the old paint system so I can't remember the names but Screaming Skull is a good color from the current line
