The first five models of my Tactical Squad are complete. I’m really pleased with how these have come out. I like the subtle glow of the plasma weapons, I like the blue lenses as well. Next up I’m going to finish the Ravenwing biker squad. Watch this space.

I like this blog but would be good to something other than Space marines. A little variation would be nice for a change.
Space marine codex and dark angel codex released in a single fortnight, you have to give us a break.
Where were you when I was posting about the hobbit and dreadfleet or my tyranids?
I'm quite aware of this as I do follow the blog daily, however you did not have to reply in such a high and mighty manner. What I wrote originally was quite polite. Anyway keep up the good work.
I won't be changing my plans to paint marines. Sorry about that. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Apologize as I had no intention of trying to make you change your plans. I was just saying on a general level it would be nice to see more variety of models. No need to be rude.
and before you take it personally, I mean variation from everyone who shows on the site, not just yourself.
I resent the accusation that I'm being rude. That is not my intention. Please don't take my straight to the point replies as rudeness. You made a statement and I was entitled to reply with a reason (2 marine codexes in a fortnight, is a pretty good explanation for all the marines on the site). I also highlighted the issue that it's not always marines on the site, like hobbit, dread fleet, tyranids etc. Not to mention my Warhammer Armies on Parade board, necron megaforce project etc etc.
I'm not taking this personally. I'm giving up my free time to reply to you. I could have ignore you. Sadly I think you've misunderstood me and taken my response personally. Accusing me of being high and mighty and rude is extremely unfair. You can call me that stuff if you really want. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Ok everybody calm down and realise that we are looking and talking about toy soldiers and the painting of them.
Where as I agree there has been a solid amount of marine postings however you can look at all the other blog network and see what else is on offer.
Rather than be critical of what these guys paint and post, why not offer yourself and your painting skills to show other models from the GW range.
Keep up the great work guys personally if I find the marine postings to many i just go back into the archieves to see what I might have missed.
Hey Garfy, different anon here. Always like painting my DA along with your projects (in particular found your DW tutorial invaluable), also starting up an Easterling force (don't ask me why so late!) so I'm naturally curious if we'll ever see anymore LotR on this blog? Would be killer to see you crank something out as the change of scale/proportions definitely adds variety to your frankly enormous 'portfolio'.
I don't have any other plans at the moment to paint anything other than my Army of the Imperium project. However, I do still have Smaug. It's kinda annoying me that I got caught up in the hype, outlaid a large amount of month for this model and have done nothing with it. So maybe I'll work on that soon to make me feel better.
