Hi all, Banzai1000 here with some pictures of my Armies on Parade board for 2016.
The board was mainly scratch built from polystyrol (known as Styrodur in Germany). I also integrated an Ophidian Archway. The wooden material is all natural wood, and the water effect was done with 2k Water Gel from German model railway brand Noch. Did I mention that I won Gold in my local GW store?
I tried to paint all the Troggoth models (twenty in total) in slightly different shades, to make them more interesting to look at.
Here is a closer look at some Fellwater Troggoths and Stone Troggoths:
All in all it was a great event. Now I need to make up my mind about what I should enter for next year’s competion: Emperor’s Children, a Khorne Brass Stampede (with a giant Mammoth from Forge World) or a Genestealer Cult.
What would you suggest? Tell me in the comment section…

Beautiful. Perhaps the Brass Stampede, I reckon loads will do the new kids on the block Genestealer Cult. Congrats on your thoroughly deserved win
Thx! Khorne is very strong at the moment…
Congratulations! Amazing entry and beautiful models!
Thx!
Congratulations on the gold!
I think your style would make a Genestealer Cult look good.
Thx! At least i started a 40k board anyway….
Is that Throgg in there? So gutted they stopped making him (before I got round to buying one!) Great looking display. What happens when you win in store?
Genestealer cult would be cool; lots of space marine entries normally I assume? Be nice to get something different!
Yes that's Throgg, happy to have one, great model. After winning in store l got my Gold Medal (in fact it was my fifth Gold Medal) and the board is on display for a while.
And yes, i will find something different for next year's competition.
Thx for commenting.
This is awesome! How did u integrate the rocks/mountain side with the archway and what material did you use? Were the trees made out of roots? I guess you can see I'm quite interested in your entry =D
I reckon you had a good balance of well painted minis and scenery so I really liked this entry! Well done!
Hey Jiunn, Thx!
The mountain side was done with blocks from polysterol, glued into position and plastered. So it was easy to fit the archway into the scenery. The trees are a sort of wooden plant for which i found no translation:))). For AoP it's always good to have the balance between scenery and models. Also the board could tell a short story. Now that this was my fifth Gold Medal i hope that i know what i am talking about….:))))
Cheers
