Hey guys, some progress on my Crimson Hunter. So far I’ve basecoated everything with my airbrush, sprayed on some highlights, and worked on the base. As you can see, I’m going for my standard Iybraesil turquoise for the hull. I felt that a single vehicle in red or crimson would stand out too much, and I’ve got red tanks in my Saim-Hann army already. I thought of painting the oval panel at the back in Wazdakka Red and add the Crimson Hunter rune, though. What do you think?

I think a red panel will be good, and maybe a red stripe or two on one (or two) wings. But I agree, keep it mainly turquoise.
+1
Agree too !
I agree with Siph. Also, I really appreciate the angle you took the picture from. I always thought crimson hunters looked A little goofy but not I can see his awesome they actually are!
Yeah, they don't photo well… I was surprised when I finished building mine.
Have you changed the bright lances?
Yes, I replaced the stubs with proper bright lances.
Super nice! I think a rune would be enough, doesn't even have to be blocked in with red.
How many layers did you use to build up your airbrush highlights? Same colors from your Guardian tutorial?
Hey Daniel, pretty similar to my Guardian tutorial: I use a basecoat of VGC Falcon Turquoise, Stegadon Scale Green for shading, and spray on two stages of highlights (Falcon Turquoise + an increasing amount of white). Finally I use a thin layer of the custom dark turquoise wash I described in the Guardian tutorial as a filter.
Cool, thanks!
When you say filter, do you mean you use it to darken specific areas? Or all over (like the first Guardian wash over the satin varnish)?
