I promised you an army shot and here it is. My complete Ultramarines collection, that I extensively reworked over the last two years.
The army shot above is scaled down, check out the full resolution picture here.
These are a couple of my favourite models from the collection, you can also check out individual pictures of all models and units by following this link.

Captain Cato Sicarius

Bike Squad

Company Veterans

Classic Marneus Calgar in Power Armour

Tactical Squad

In case you are wondering how I painted these, don’t forget to check out my step-by-step tutorial here.
So, what’s next for my Ultramarines collection? Of course, an army is never complete. There won’t be Primaris Marines, as I think classic and Primaris Marines look awkward next to each other, but I want to add a couple more characters, a Land Raider, maybe another Rhino and even a Redemptor Dreadnought (I know it’s technically a Primaris model, but then I haven’t found anything in the fluff that says it couldn’t be piloted by a regular Marine). I guess it will be a while before you see something blue from me on the blog though. Reworking my Marines was my main project for almost two years, and I’ll need to paint something else for a change. Stay tuned!

Beautiful. I used your tutorial, years ago, when I first started painting Ultramarines and the techniques I learned, and applied, vastly improved the look of my models. Thank you!!!!
Great work Stahly, it’s come together really nicely. What did you use as the backdrop?
An artwork I found on the internet that is printed on a PVC board via an online print service. You could use a photo like this one, https://www.pexels.com/photo/photography-of-clouds-during-dusk-814449/ free for personal use.
A work of art and devotion. Truly impressive
Cheers 🙂
This is a gorgeous army that you can be very proud of! I'm trying to paint an army to this standard as well and yours give me the motivation to work on it! Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to paint everything (before the rework)?
Hard to remember… I believe I worked on this army around two years before the big rework, then over a year and a half to bring everything to my skill level of today. I'm a slow painter.
It's a beautiful sight! Well done on reaching where you wanted to get to with this army. I know it was a hard grind. The end result makes it totally worth it. Now you just have to get these into White Dwarf 🙂
