Another piece from the commissioned Blood Angels army I’m currently working on. Again, really enjoyable to paint, especially as it’s not exactly overladen with “chapter-specific detail”. Okay, there’s more of that than on the Assault Marines which were a real joy in that regard but I think it’s just right on this guy. For additional contrast I painted the lenses green and the close combat weapons blue.

I agree with the notion that "less is more" when it comes to chapter details and other cosmetics. I like when the figure has enough details to make it interesting, but still feels like it is a proper fighting unit/vehicle. So, very nice and inspirational work!

Question: why aren't you doing the bases for the commissions?
He answered this when I asked him the other day. Apparently the client likes to base them himself to match his gaming table. Shame really, such an awesome paint job and the illusion is shattered with a black plastic base.
