Hey all, I have had a busy week painting up a bunch of Astra Militarum models. The Vendetta above is the finished result from the showcase that I showed a week ago as wip. I think it turned out pretty nice. I purchased a sheet of WW2 nose art tattoos from the states which I used on the front of the Vendetta. The eagle design on the wings was made from a stencil rather than using the Forge World transfers. I am going to be putting up some vehicles that I painted in the coming weeks. What do you guys think? Are you a fan of the new codex?

Yep, that was a stencil cut out from masking tape. As I remember it was a bit of a nightmare to do!!
I really like it. I am a huge fan of weathering techniques and making things look like they actually have fought. Even my SWs and SMs have pretty extensive weathering on them. I know some people like the 'parade ground' look, but I spent way too long in the military to believe that anything or anybody looks nice and clean for more than a few minutes out in the field…lol. Very nice!!
Totally agree with how vehicles end up looking in the military. I've been reading/watching a whole bunch of WW2 painting guides as well as pouring over war videos. Those tanks etc do get into a right mess I guess pretty quick.

Absolutely amazing piece of work. If only I had half your skill [sigh]. You were kind enough to post how you had done the engines up to the WIP you posted a little while ago but said there was more to be done on them. Can you tell us what else have you done (looks maybe like some oily and rust effects maybe?). Thanks.
Hey Thanks, making a video tutorial at the moment that should be up some point next week. Its for the Hydra model, but the same techniques apply for the Vendetta etc.
