Hey, the wing symbols are made from a stencil and the nose art pin up girl is from some ww2 transfers.
Nuke, is the aquila freehand, or is it a decal from somewhere?
Good start. I think adding some yellow to this would be awesome. Look forward to the final product.
This looks great. I also would like to know how you painted up the engines – they're really good and contrast beautifully with the rest of the model.
The engines are not finished, but so far I drybrushed gw leadbelcher, followed by vallejo oily steel. I then used antique rub n buff followed by a sepia wash and then highlighted with vallejo chrome. Hope that helps 🙂
Thank you very much. They look pretty good now so if these aren't even complete yet I'm really looking forward to the finished version! When they are finished please would you post whatever the remaining steps are? Do you mean rub 'n buff 'antique gold' rather than 'antique white' is it some other antique (I don't know if there are others)?
Yes its antique gold rub n buff. You can find the stuff on ebay. I will for sure post the finished thing and feel free to ask any questions. It looks a lot different now. But trying to finish that and another valkyrie, a chimera and the new models for Imperial Guard all at once. So it should be a few more days, but the Imperial Guard stuff is a lot of fun to paint. Just wished they didnt change the name as I cant even remember what it is 🙂
I like the brassy metal parts, mind sharing your recipe? works really well with the light grey/White of the rest of the Valkyrie.
