I had such a fantastic response from my Orc Armies on Parade video, I thought I’d make a brand new short showcase film for my finished Beorn models. After the jump are photographs for you to enjoy as well.
Let me know what you thought about the video in the comments. I’m getting a little faster at producing these short films. The Orc one took three evenings. This one took two evenings (8 hours) and I feel it’s a better edit.
As well as creating a video, I’ve photographed every single painting step and I will be producing a tutorial for each of these models to add to the already huge collection of Hobbit model tutorials I’ve created.

Loved the video! And great paintjob on all the models.
Love the video and the models! Can't wait for the painting tutorials. Especially the bear looks much better than the more black gw one.
Aww mate!! The paint job on the bear's face is soo good! I really like it. I don't know why but when I start the video it was automatically muted from the beginning.
There is a fade on the music. It starts off quiet and gets louder. Might be that?
Nice job and fun video – I may have to have a go at that. Interesting you went with a brown hue for the bear, rather than the black…
Yeah I didn't like the pure black look gw did. I thought I'd go for near black with brown highlights. I think it looks a bit more natural. The eavy metal one looks a bit grey and flat. I looked at real bear pictures on google as well which helped.
Love these video's hope you are able to do them more often for other miniatures In the hobbit range (also the video tops the ones from gw by far!) also great bear colour scheme.
Thanks Michelle. I'm glad you liked it. I have so many ideas rattling around my head for more videos but it'll all depend on time. I haven't painted since the weekend because of the video and I still have two tutorials to write, so I'm not sure I'll get to paint this week 🙁
Very reminiscent of the GW showcase videos, I like your editing. Is the smoke effect coming from your tea? 🙂
Kidding aside, I think you have captured the atmosphere of the character brilliantly, and your paint job makes the (in my opinion) lackluster sculpt a lot better and worth looking at.
My friend and I went halves on a smoke machine when we shot a music video for his friends. It's my turn to use the smoke machine now 🙂
Nicely done vid there, gives some of GW's a run for their money I'd say.
Can I ask what editing software you use and where you got the sound effects/music from?
Adobe premiere. Music and effects are from youtube. I think it credits the artists automatically in the copyright agreement somewhere in the details.
Cheers, much appreciated.
Keep up the good work 🙂
Nice video and models. Perhaps you should add some music to the video?
Did you have your volume turned down? There is music, orc screams, bear growls the works!!!
