Hi everyone, I recently picked up my brushes again to revisit a project that has never really started properly. These Deathwing are destined to join my Army of the Imperium project. The idea is I love boxed games and most boxed games include Imperial forces. So I want to combine all these forces into one Imperial Army. I think it will be headed up by my Grey Knight Army, as well as being backed up by my Imperial Knight and potentially future knights. Stay tuned as I post some more WIP shots of the other units soon.

Love your style Garfy! The tutorial was super helpful too. Quick question. How do you clean-up/fix mistakes when blacklining with XV-88? Am I better of cleaning up with bone after blacklining and then shading with Zamesi Desert/Lahmian Medium afterwards? Still learning. Any tips would be great 🙂
Hi Sam, you sound like you're a lot neater than me. I rarely tidy up tiny mistakes.
The highlight stage after black lining will clean up some of the mistakes on the raised edges. But I think your first suggestion of black lining then glazing with Zamesi will be better for you.
Please send me some WIP or Showcase pictures of your Deathwing. You can get me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Garfy.taleofpainters
Yeah i should get back to all my boxed sets too 😛 Why did i pick Angels of Redemption? Stupid split scheme is going to be the death of me!
Garfy, they look great! Do you plan to make a short and brief tutorial once you're done with these guys?
This tutorial for Deathwing already exists on this blog.
I've had the same idea: Stormclaw, Deathstorm, Dark Vengeance, Strike Force Ultra, Few grey knights and a knight errant!
I'm trying to resist adding 4 assassins to the force…
I shouldn't but I don't think I can help caving in eventually!
Don't resist, get the assassins. They'd look very good hidden about the forces.
