Hey all, today I’d thought I’d show the beginnings of a Tyranid Broodlord that I have just started.
The Broodlord is the final model of a large Tyranid army that I am painting for someone. I will show more photos next week once everything has been finalised. This project has really nearly killed me due to how many models I have had to paint. I’ve counted about a 100 figures. The Broodlord above is from the Space Hulk box set. I was asked to fit the model base wise in with the other models so I sawed the majority of the skull industrial base off. What do you think so far?

Hey how did you achieve the skin color if you dont mind me asking
looks great as usual! love the gritty, realistic style and color scheme. Looking forward to seeing the other models or a large group shot, especially if you have any spore mines/mucolid spores, venomthropes, or a tyrannocyte! I would like to see how you do large fleshy areas in this scheme, or the toxin sacs of a venomthrope.
100 figures is "many"? Out of curiosity, I need to ask, what size are the armies you usually paint? I'm currently having a FaBa Empire army on my table, and I've counted well over 300 models – and it isn't anything unusual.
Hey Eekenator, a hundred figures for me is a lot in one go. Most size armies are usually around 35/40 models if its for 40K. Fantasy can be a bit higher, but I'd normally split the orders into two halves depending on how long it will take. A lot of times it's just single models or small units.
looking suitably scary and not something that would want to meet on a dark night down an alley
