Today I thought I’d show a Tomb Kings Necrosphinx that I have just finished working on. I really liked painting the Necrosphinx as I have never worked on any Tomb Kings models before.
The colour for the main body was done by using P3 coal black as a base coat over black. I then sprayed a zenithal highlight from the top and sides at a 45 degree angle hitting areas of interest. After that I used Comm art viridian as a wash to bring all the underlying colours together. For the swirling lines areas I used Comm art phthalo, followed by thinner airbrushed lines of white. Let me know what you think.

That's a beautiful Necrosphinx you have painted. Any chance of a tutorial? Greg
Greg, a small tutorial is in the text below the images for what colours I used. Hope that helps.
if you airbrushed the white lightning then you are the man
I think the guy I painted it for is planning to use it for the olde rules for Fantasy Battle, but not 100% certain.
Absolutely stunning as ever. Just a quick question given the AoS release, did you consider basing on an oval rather than rectangle now square bases are relatively a thing of the past now?
It's marvelous!

Sadly I only took the two photos as I had to get him mailed out before holidays.
I hate to say this, but this is the BEST piece I have seen of yours on T.O.P. I've liked your stuff before, but this piece is outstanding!
Hey cheers Steven. I like painting him alot.
It looks stunning. Definitely a masterpiece. Could do a tutorial, how you painted the golden pieces ?
I could do that one back back from holidays.
That's definitely the best Necrosphinx I've ever seen
This looks ridiculous, ………. ridiculously good that is, the body is a masterpiece
